Ian J. McCarthy, 51, is the President and Chief Executive
Officer of Beazer Homes USA, the sixth largest single-family homebuilder in the
country, with calendar-year revenues of over $4 billion. Operations are
geographically diversified in 20 states in the Southeast, West, Central,
Mid-Atlantic and Mid West. Founded in 1985, the company is headquartered in
Atlanta, GA and is listed on the New York Stock exchange under the symbol
(NYSE: BZH).
Mr. McCarthy has over 23 years experience with Beazer companies in the UK, Hong
Kong, Thailand and since 1991 as President of Beazer Homes, responsible for all
US residential homebuilding operations. Mr. McCarthy has served as President,
CEO and a Director of Beazer Homes USA, Inc. since its IPO in March 1994.
Mr. McCarthy is a Chartered Civil Engineer with a Bachelor of Science degree
from the City University, England.
Mr. McCarthy currently serves as a member of the HomeAid America Board –
the leading provider of transitional housing for the temporarily homeless. Mr.
McCarthy also serves on the Executive Committee of the Policy Advisory Board of
the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University, the Board of
Directors of Builder Homesite, Inc., the Board of Directors of the Metro
Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and as a Trustee of the Woodruff Arts Center in
Atlanta. Mr. McCarthy was recently inducted in the California Building Industry
Hall of Fame – the first non-Californian resident to receive this honor.
